Engine repair and service
We fix the cause – often without a full rebuild
The engine is the heart of the car. We find the root cause of the fault and fix exactly that, preserving the engine's life – from scheduled service to a full rebuild with a guarantee.
Why your car needs it

Engine overheating can damage the cylinder head within a few trips.

Engine fault codes turn into mechanical failures over time – they don't go away on their own.

Small leaks and worn seals gradually affect neighbouring parts and increase the scope of work.

Translated from UkrainianGreat workshop. They found why my parking lights weren't working – simply oxidised contacts. Cleaned them and didn't even charge me. Recommend!

Book now →No – which is exactly why we look for the cause first. A hydraulic lifter, a chain tensioner or an accessory can knock, and all of those cost a fraction of a rebuild. We open the engine only when the diagnostics show the cause is inside.
A complete strip-down, machining of the block, new pistons and rings, bearing shells, seals and gaskets, then reassembly to the manufacturer's torque figures. The final price depends on which parts survived, so the quote is drawn up after inspection.
Because it ruins the expensive parts: overheating warps the cylinder head, so instead of a thermostat or water pump you end up paying for head repair. If the temperature gauge climbs, stop and call a tow truck rather than nursing the car to the workshop.
A valve-cover gasket or sensors take a few hours. Head repair takes a few days; a full rebuild starts at a week, since part of the time goes on parts delivery and machining. We give you an estimated timeframe along with the quote.
Yes, up to 12 months on the work and the parts fitted. One condition: follow the run-in schedule and change the oil on time – oil is what decides how long a freshly rebuilt engine lasts.
We cost both options honestly. A used engine can make sense, but it comes with no service history. After the inspection we put the price of repairing your engine next to the price of a replacement – the choice is yours.
Engine repair at the RemZone workshop
The engine is the main and one of the most complex assemblies in a car. It works under heavy load every day, so a fault in it can seriously affect the whole vehicle. Sooner or later the moment comes when a car needs engine work.
That can mean a selective repair – valve adjustment, for instance – or a full rebuild that involves inspecting and overhauling every assembly and part and replacing what is worn.
How do you know the engine has a fault?
Signs that your engine needs an overhaul include a loss of power, with the engine no longer reaching the revs it should. While driving you feel shaking or jerking that was not there before, and you hear knocking, grinding or unusual noise. The exhaust smoke changes colour (white most likely means a coolant leak, blue points to oil, black to fuelling problems). Oil consumption rises, there are leaks of fluid (oil, coolant) or fuel, and puddles appear under the car far too often.
If several of these signs appear together, an engine overhaul is likely to be needed. You can book this service in Warsaw at our RemZone workshop. All our technicians have extensive hands-on experience, and rebuild and set-up work is carried out on modern equipment. That lets us complete the job quickly and at a competitive price.
How is an engine rebuild carried out?
An engine overhaul is done step by step and includes:
- Fault diagnosis. This is the first stage, where the current condition of the engine is established and the scope of the work is assessed.
- Engine disassembly. After the diagnostic work the unit is stripped down. This gives access to the internal components so their condition and the need for replacement can be judged.
- Repair or full replacement of parts. The decision depends on the extent of the faults found. Components such as pistons, rings, shafts and bearings can usually be repaired. The head gasket is the part most often replaced. Valve stem seals – consumables that wear quickly – may also be replaced during the service.
- Engine reassembly. After the repair work the engine is rebuilt and refitted, and all seals and connections are checked along the way.
- A test drive is carried out to confirm the engine works correctly and to catch any small issues.
How maintenance affects how often the engine needs repair
To avoid frequent engine repairs the car must be serviced properly and regularly. That means changing the oil and filters, checking the cooling system, running regular diagnostics on the engine and other systems, and using good-quality fuel.
If you are looking for somewhere that does car repair in Warsaw properly, you have found it. This is our RemZone workshop, where every job is done quickly and at a sensible price. The cost is calculated individually in each case.
Most often people come to us for:
- Cylinder head repair, which covers cracks, valve guides and valve replacement.
- Cylinder block repair, including boring the liner (or replacing it with a new one where needed), machining and replacing pistons and oil control rings.
- Crankshaft reconditioning and assessment of the bearing shells.
Our workshop also offers: replacement of valve cover and cylinder block gaskets, engine mounts, front and rear crankshaft seals, knock and coolant temperature sensors, connecting rod bearings and the oil sump. We also carry out engine re-sleeving.
Once the work is complete our technicians provide a service warranty, so you do not have to worry about something failing again and paying twice. Warranty work is completely free of charge.
